For my entire life, I have always struggled with my weight. Through hard work and determination, I did lose what amounted to be around 75 pounds. Did I feel completely confident that is all I could lose? Did I really know what food options I should be eating and what I should be avoiding? The answer to both of those was a resounding, “no”, but I didn’t really know what to do. I had gone through numerous trainers at the gym I belong to, while learning some good training techniques, I was never really guided on what to eat, or even supported fully from the nutritional standpoint. I solicited and started training with Chris, or “TC” as I call him (Trainer Chris). From the start of my journey with TC, he was noticeably different than all the other trainers I had worked with; he was there to support me, period. TC started with assessing where I was from a training aspect, and noticed quickly that my downfall truly was what I eat. Our workouts were intense, and on top of that, he held me accountable for not only my workouts, but what I was eating. He gave me a guide on what macro-nutrients to eat with a daily plan of what to consume. What I didn’t like at the time, but truly cherish now, is that TC never told me “what to eat”, but helped me on “how to eat”. I lost 22 pounds in 12 weeks with TC. I am forever grateful for his guidance and support. I can truly call him a friend, but this all started with his guidance as a trainer. Thanks TC!
I started training with TheExercisePRO in late 2014 for overall fitness. In the Spring of 2015, however, I decided I wanted to train for a figure competition. Chris encouraged and supported me every step of the way. He developed a comprehensive plan that included intense training, detailed diet guidelines, posing preparation, and body fat measurements. He used his experience as a competition judge to offer constructive (and honest) criticism during the posing practices. He took body fat measurements and visual appraisals of my physique to adjust the diet plan to get desired results. I would be lying if I said it was easy, but his encouragement and belief in me helped me keep going. And the results speak for themselves, I took First Place in Figure Novice Masters 45+, and Second Place in Figure Debut and Figure Novice at the 2015 USBF Maryland Natural, my first show. We are continuing to train, building from this solid base, in preparation for more shows in 2016.
